We believe for people to become disciples of Jesus, they must grasp the good news about what God did for us in Christ and respond to it in humble trust, sincere repentance, earnest confession of Jesus as leader and Lord, and baptism with understanding, faith, and devotion to Jesus.
We need more people to help teach this message to others so that more people can become disciples of Jesus and be saved. If you believe God has gifted or called you to teach people who are wanting to get right with God, we’d love to provide support, encouragement, training or materials to help you. Please contact Marvin Bryant (688-3002 or Email Marvin)
Here are some ways of getting involved in teaching the good news to others:
1. Know the gospel and how it has affected your heart to the point that you really believe it is good news.
2. Strive to live according to the gospel and be humble enough to admit when you do not.
3. Pray for God to open doors of opportunity and use you as he sees fit. It is HIS mission.
4. Be alert to opportunities by noticing anyone who seems to be hurting or interested in spiritual matters.
5. Care about people, and not only about what you want to say to them.
6. Spend some time and share little bits of God's truth with the person in a respectful, gentle, humble manner.
7. Follow up with anyone who seems to be open to you or open to what you have to say.
8. Offer to get together to read and discuss the Bible, if you believe they may be open to it.
9. Emphasize the good news about what God did through the death and resurrection of Jesus so that we could come to have a relationship with him.
10. Provide nuture for anyone who decides to be a follower of Jesus.
