Our Approach to Local Evangelism

We believe evangelism (telling other people about Jesus) is a joint work of God and us. We must find a godly balance between placing full responsibility for the work on ourselves and placing full responsibility for the work on God. We believe many workers are needed, so we pray to the Lord of the Harvest to raise up workers (Matt. 9:35-38) and provide training for those who are open to it (Eph. 4:11-12).

As to our part in evangelism, we are trying to help people come to God by means of a relational approach. We want to reach out through relationships so people will know we care about them, so they will have an opportunity to see Jesus demonstrated in us, and so our words will have more credibility with them.
"Relational
Approach"

We encourage every member to pray for opportunities to “show and tell” Jesus to others, be alert for any opportunities God may give us, and do something to make the most of any situation that seems like it might be an opportunity (Colossians 4:2-6). We can find such opportunities in most situations in our everyday lives, when we are gathered as a church, and as we serve in any other ministry we are a part of.

We also encourage every member to live in hope, understand the reasons/basis for hope, and be able to gently share that with anyone who asks you (in whatever way) about your hope (1 Peter 3:15-16).

We believe for people to become disciples of Jesus, they must grasp the good news about what God did for us in Christ and respond to it in humble trust, sincere repentance, earnest confession of Jesus as leader and Lord, and baptism with understanding, faith, and devotion to Jesus. If you believe God has gifted or called you to teach this message to others, we’d love to provide support, encouragement, training or materials to help you. We hope and pray that, as we cooperate with God in evangelism, his grace may reach more and more people and lead to thanksgiving overflowing to the glory of God
(2 Corinthians 4:15).
