NorthWest Recovery Ministry is a Christian Ministry to people in recovery.
We seek to assist with the Life Issues and Challenges of recovery through Support of the Recovery Community, Developing Christ-Centered Relationships, and Healthy Social Interaction.
Our plan by God's Grace and Guidance, is to accomplish this by:
- Identifying and developing partnerships with effective recovery programs,
- Providing services to those programs, such as: Spiritual Mentoring, Bible Classes, Social Skills classes, Client Referrals,
- Assisting with Recovery Programs' Client Needs, such as: Physical Needs, Transportation Needs, and making NorthWest facilities available for their organizations' meetings,
- Encouraging a church atmosphere of genuine loving acceptance and welcome,
- Coordinating trained, skilled, and qualified volunteers with appropriate boundaries,
- Organizing recovery-friendly church classes, assemblies, and social activities.
Our steering committee members are: John Flint, Steve Fritsche, Linda Hartman, Julius Lundy, Larry Stark, and Al Young.
Interested? Our "Hope Lives" class meets in the Fellowship Hall, at NorthWest Church of Christ, at 9:45am, on Sundays. Guests are always welcome in our class.
Currently we have partnerships with three recovery facilities, and are serving them weekly. Within the first year of operation, we have placed fifteen people in these recovery facilities and assisted with their physical needs, we hold weekly social skills/spiritual recovery classes, we assist with clients transportation needs, contribute regularly to the operations of the homes, we provide a recovery-friendly church class and transportation for those clients wishing to attend, and we have hosted a substance-free client picnic and a superbowl party. We continually seek to expand our service to the program clients we currently have, and make additional contacts and relationships within the recovery community to better serve this population.
